Aline Oliveira: Early days
Before entering MIT, Aline Oliveira worked all her life in technology and comfort sectors. She was the business development director of one of the largest trading houses in Latin America. She was also CEO of an agricultural company.
In June of 2017, she started working with Fabrizio Pezente. Fabrizio and Aline talked about the problems that their sector has. In Bill Aulet’s class New Enterprises, they began to shape their idea, so they decided to create a platform for the agricultural industry.
Aline Oliveira: Career
Small producers own most of the agricultural lands in the world. They represent around 500 million family farms, according to FAO data. For them, it is not always easy to get credits that allow them to increase their production.
TrAIve was founded to solve this problem. Through data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI), Traive improves the prediction of investment risk in agricultural holdings. Thus, farmers can access more advantageous loans.
Banks usually consider agriculture a sector of high risk in investment. With Traive, financial costs can be reduced by 25% to 50%. Thus, the farmer has more capital to invest in development.
Traive predicts the performance of a crop only with the location of the land and the seeds to be planted. The platform works with a database of a high quality of arable land and with the historical analysis of productivity.
