Companies in the USA commit to celebrating Hispanics in the workplace

Companies take responsibility for hiring, promoting, retaining, and celebrating Hispanics in the workplace.

The non-profit We Are All Human Foundation announced today in Dallas, Texas, that the Hispanic Promise now has 97 signatories after the Hispanic Leadership Summit: Dallas. This figure represents an increase of 46 companies since its Chicago summit in April 2019.

Through the Promise, a national commitment that is the first of its kind, companies take responsibility for hiring, promoting, retaining, and celebrating Hispanics in the workplace.

On September 9, the Hispanic Leadership Summit: Dallas convened prominent local leaders from companies such as AT&T, PepsiCo, Pinnacle Group, Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, and Yum! Brands at the Cox Business School of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) to foster a broad debate about the advancement of the priorities of the Hispanic community in the United States.

“The Dallas summit brought together influential opinion leaders and decision-makers from all sectors, which shows the enthusiasm present in the Dallas region to create new opportunities for youth, entrepreneurs and workers in the Hispanic community,” said Dale Petroskey, president and CEO of the Dallas Regional Chamber.

Among the companies that have signed the Promise to Hispanics are technology companies such as AT&T or TechData.

“We made history here in Dallas,” said Claudia Romo Edelman, a former United Nations professor and founder and CEO of the We Are All Human Foundation. “For the first time, more than a dozen Hispanic organizations, along with several giant corporations, sent a strong collective message to begin Hispanic Heritage Month with the signing of the Hispanic Promise. We hope this is a signal to the country that, for US businesspeople, Hispanics are essential as employees, consumers, and citizens, and other companies must follow this example. “
