The multimodal transport platform Didi Chuxing presented DiDi Engine yesterday. The initiative seeks to train young talents in digital innovation to strengthen their research and development capabilities. Also, Didi hopes that these young people will also develop artificial intelligence projects for social welfare in the international markets where the company is expanding.

Didi President Jean Liu announced the initiative by concluding a youth exchange program in Beijing, where students from the University of Sao Paulo and the State University of Campina participated in entrepreneurship advice, AI workshops and a programming competition.
Didi Engine will begin rolling out in Latin America. The company will also seek to join efforts to promote collaborative laboratories and research programs with research institutions, technology scholarships, and internship programs for young innovators and application and software project development.
In phase one, the initiative includes a collaborative laboratory between Didi and the University of Chile, focused on AI and Engineering research in Santiago.

Currently, Didi offers corporate taxi service, car loans, shared bicycles, automatic solutions, and intelligent transport services to more than 550 million users in China, Japan, Latin America, and Australia, taking more than 10 billion trips per year. To improve its AI capabilities in China, Silicon Valley, and other regions, Didi focuses on developing innovations designed for different markets. He also works with governments, taxi companies, and public transport operators to build intelligent transport management platforms.
