TOP 10 software companies with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and development centers in Mexico

Exclusive! TOP 10 software companies with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and development centers in Mexico, the complete 2020 list.

Software outsourcing to Mexico is the booming smart trend. Nearshoring to Mexico gathers all the advantages of software development offshoring in general: Cultural and geographical proximity, close time zones, stable dollar-peso rate, and a very large pool of well-educated developers and engineers.

For those of us who still value a direct, IRL contact with our business partner, managing a whole project 100% remotely – even with a nearshore team – feels odd and not trustworthy enough. Some of us are ready to pay more just to have someone to meet and talk with, someone to introduce to other stakeholders of our project to help us backup our ideas, and someone with a legal structure in the US to share the same legal framework and punch each other legally if necessary.

The ideal scenario?

  • A US-based software vendor with development offices in Mexico
  • A Mexican software vendor with a regional office near yours in the USA

Any of those two scenario put back the true meaning of “near” in the neologism “nearshore”.

Software companies in the Bay Area with development centers in Mexico?

The San Francisco Bay Area is packed with software development companies. While the idea to nearshore to Mexico is excellent, the process to look for software companies in the Bay Area with development centers in Mexico is tenuous. The main business directories in this industry such as Clutch.co do not compile their data this way, turning the process of identifying the companies you are looking for extremely time-consuming.

As we were writing a piece on that very specific topic (Nearshoring like you were in the house), it occurred to us that such a list needed to exist somewhere on the Web. Without further ado, here is our Top 10 of software companies in the San Francisco Bay Area with development centers in Mexico.

  • Note 1: We do not mention large software vendors with international offices including Mexico to favor a full focus on Mexico-centric software development companies. Feel free to add your own in the comments if we forgot to mention it.
  • Note 2: We organized this list in alphabetical order. We did not compare those companies in any way. We just double-checked that they had at least one office in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a significant delivery center in Mexico.
