Allowing bots in Google Chat
Before trying any bot, users should ensure that they are allowed to install bots inside their organization. In case you’re not able, contact the admin of your organization.
For allowing Chat Bots in Google Workspace, administrators should:
- Sign in to Google Admin console.
- Sign in using an administrator account.
- From the Admin console Home page, go to AppsGoogle WorkspaceGoogle Chat and classic Hangouts.
- Click Chat Bots.
- To apply the setting to everyone, leave the top organizational unit selected. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit or a configuration group.
- Under Allow users to install chat bots, select On.
- Click Save. If you configured an organizational unit or group, you might be able to Inherit or Override a parent organizational unit or Unset a group.
Chat bots from Google
Teams can start testing the Chat Bots offered by Google, that improve functionalities of Google products.
