Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the only daughter of Indian billionaire Shiv Nadar and art collector Kiran Nadar. She studied at Vasant Valley School in Delhi and earned an undergraduate degree in Communication at Northwestern University. She briefly worked as a news producer at Sky News in the UK. She specialized in Management focused on Social Enterprise and Strategy at Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
In 2008, Roshni Nadar Malhotra came back to India and got involved in HCL Corporation. In April 2009, she took over as executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation, the holding company of HCL Technologies and Infosystems. Her father Shiv Nadar remained as Chairman of HCL Technologies and pointed out that Roshni wouldn’t be involved in the operational companies of HCL Corporation. Roshni was in charge of running the treasury and taking new investment decisions.
In July 2020, Roshni Nadar succeeded his father as chairperson of HCL Technologies.
Roshni has highlighted through different philanthropic organizations such as Shiv Nadar Foundation that is committed to transform the country through education. The Foundation has established some of the top private engineering colleges in India, the interdisciplinary Shiv Nadar University, the VidyaGyan Leadership Academies, the Shiv Nadar Schools, and the innovative Shiksha, a technology-led intervention in rural education to eradicate illiteracy from India.
