Lisa T. Su: Early days

Lisa Tzwu-Fang Su was born in Tainan, Taiwan in November 1986, but her family moved to the United States when she was three-years-old. Her Taiwanese parents, a statistician, and an accountant encouraged her to study math and science since she was a child. She wanted to become an engineer because she was curious about how things work.

She studied at Bronx High School of Science in New York, and then she entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As an undergrad student, she manufactured test silicon wafers for graduate students, and that job interested her in semiconductors. Lisa T. Su was on the technical staff at Texas Instruments Inc. in the Semiconductor Device and Process Center from 1994 to 1995.
